My name is Brenda Burge and I have been racing sled dogs since I got my first dog in 1977. I was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Charles and Eileen Burge July 27, 1957. My dad is a retired minister & counselor, former military chaplain and my mom a retired counselor and teacher, having taught from elementary school to colleges, even in Europe. Because of my upbringing I visited almost every corner of the world growing up. Finally, after visiting many other countries, I settled in Alaska. I graduated from high school in Pennsylvania in 1974, at the age of 16, and from the University of Alaska in 1978, with a B.S. in biology, at the age of 20. At the age of 19 I received my Private Pilot's License but had already become hopelessly involved with sled dogs. Therefore, all my other interests suddenly took a back seat. I hope you will enjoy looking at my kennel, some racing pictures and some of my experiences.
